Hack was so pleased with the reception of The Lingerie Models (where detectives Jonny and Boris pose as runway underwear models) that he rewrote it as The Swimsuit Competition (where they pose as beauty pageant contestants). It’s essentially the same book with a few cut-and-pastes to change the setting. Even so, it sold well across the Bible Belt.
