Happy heavenly birthday to the great Gene Kelly!
Today is something called Be An Angel Day, which inspired Hack to think about his angelic friends Glenn and Julie, and even his cover artist Jonny M.’s late pug Winston (Hack’s dementia has increased to the point where he can’t remember that he and Winston despised each other). It’s kind of a touching book.
Hack’s cover artist Jonny M. was excited about a flamboyant new pair of glasses that he got, so Hack wrote this to mock him. When Jonny’s sexual activity rose 400% after the publication of the book, Hack had to be sedated and briefly institutionalized.
Oh, and Happy birthday to Carrie-Anne Moss!
Happy birthday to the great Amy Adams!
Today is the anniversary of the death of one of Hack’s heroes, the great Groucho Marx. It inspired him to write this book in tribute to the Marx Brothers. It’s not a bad read, but most critics thought it would have been better if he had left Zeppo in.
Happy heavenly birthday to 1970s TV icon Mike Connors!
Happy heavenly birthday to the great Alfred Hitchcock!
Hack’s favorite Hitchcock film is the 1944 classic Lifeboat. He wrote this as a tribute to that film but he got confused midway into writing it and made it a tribute to the 1997 classic Titanic. It wound up being a ripoff of both films but it’s not a bad read.
Happy birthday to the great Charlize Theron!
