The website of the greatest pulp fiction writer who ever lived
Hack’s alcohol addled brain stopped storing cultural references in the late-1970s, which explains this novelization of the 1974 cult TV series Kolchak: The Night Stalker starring Darren McGavin which Hack claims came to him in a dream when he drank himself unconscious in a bar that was showing MSNBC’s coverage of the Trump trial on TV.
Hack tried to sue the makers of the smash hit musical “Mamma Mia” for plagiarizing this 1966 novella but the judge who heard the case said that the ABBA musical was “a delight for the eyes, ears and soul” whereas Hack’s work “made me want to get into a shower and never come out again.” He not only found against Hack but ordered him to pay all legal fees, which forced him into yet another bankruptcy.
